Zont™ Chapter 14: All Good Things Come To An End

Alex: If you have something to say, say it now. Before I fucking blow your brains out.

The man got off the ground quickly and did not hesitate for a second.

Boss: This all began a couple years ago. I was walking from my job interview one day.

Alex: I don't want to fucking hear any stories. I want to know what the fuck is going on!

Boss: This will all make sense once I'm finished.

Alex: We don't have time! It'll be dark soon. The zombies will be coming out.

Boss: Let's go inside my base then.

Alex: That's your base?

The man smiled.

Boss: What? Think that house is too small for me? Don't let the appearance fool you. I assure you once you walk in you'll be surprised.      

Alex: I don't care about being surprised. I want to know how all of this started! I bet your behind everything.

Boss: Haha, I'm actually not. As surprising as this sounds, I used to work for the bastard that started all of this.

Alex: I don't know what to say. All I want to do right now is tear you to pieces. But it's not a civilized thing to do and what kind of a leader would I be if all I do is fall apart.

Boss: Civilized? Don't speak of civilization. That's gone, gone forever.

Alex: Forever?! You're telling me there is no possible way to reverse all of this?

Boss: Reverse, no. Stop, possibly.

Ruslan: Tell us everything you know.

Boss: I will, let's go to my house.

They all followed the man into his home. As they entered, they were shocked at what they saw. The house seemed as if it was from the future, the technology was unbelievable. It seemed like they were on an alien planet or in a distant future.

Tomas: What is this place? It's amazing!

Boss: This is my home. Quite intrigued are you? Well, I am what I am, and I have what I have right now all because of the man who triggered all this, my master.

Alex: Are you following his orders?

Boss: What do you mean?

Alex: Did you leave him because he died and still have the same intentions for the world that he had?

Boss: It's not like that at all, let me explain myself and everything. You will understand and you won't be so mad at me.

Alex: How can I not be mad at you? If it turns out that your a good person, then I killed Daniel for nothing. That makes me look bad.

Boss: No. Daniel was pure evil, I simply controlled him and manipulated him to the point of him leading you here. That's why he always left your group in pursuit of my home. For all of you to get here and find out the truth. He knew the truth the entire time.

Alex: That damn moron.

Boss: Take your seats. This'll be a long story.

Everyone entered the living room and sat down on a chair. The chairs were more comfortable than anything they ever sat on.

Boss: Daniel was my puppet.

Alex: Please try your best not to make me more mad, I'm already at the point of killing you, don't make it any worse.

Boss: Haha, well then let me begin by telling you my name. My name is Nik.

Alex: Well, Nik, go on.

Nik: It was a couple years ago, when I was a follower. Back then, I was a pathetic bastard. I was blind, and I looked for answers in the wrong places. One day, when I was walking from a job interview, I walked by an alleyway, where it seemed to me as if someone was being raped. I heard noises, and so I entered the alleyway. As foolish and stupid as it sounds, I quietly took a peak and saw a woman getting raped by a man. That man was my leader, my boss and the person that started all of this.                       

Roman: I'm liking your story!

Ruslan: Shush.

Nik: So, I watched him rape her. Then all of a sudden I tripped over my foot when I decided to leave and fell into the open.

Tomas: Wow, I'd be pretty embarrassed. But then again, they'd be as well.

Nik: The woman was helpless. She cried for help from me. I was weak and stupid so I didn't do anything. I was just laying there on the floor, staring at him. It was all new to me. He finally let go of her pulled his pants up. 

Ruslan: What did you do?

Nik: The man walked towards me in a cool and collected manner and said these exact words. "Join me or die."

Everyone were watching Nik explain the story in complete sadness, mistrust, and intensity.

Nik: I at first was scared, I'm not sure why. Then I grabbed myself and got up confidently and was going to fight him but then three men came up from behind the man. I had no other choice but to join them. They then led me to their nearby safehouse where we dragged the woman and did experiments. She was a very attractive woman.

Roman: Emily better run.

Tomas chuckled.

Alex: It's not funny Roman.

Emily: So what kind of experiments did you do? She wasn't the only woman you experimented on was she?

Nik: She was the first I've seen get experimented on. It was amazing, I also took part of it myself.

Ruslan: Really? So you are at fault, no matter how you lay your story out. It is somewhat your fault.

Nik: It is my fault. I know. I have suffered a great deal because of this.

Alex: How? Did you lose your best friends and family like we all did?

Nik: Worse.

He got up and took off his shirt. His entire torso was burned and brutally beaten.

Alex: That's not worse, you deserved it anyway.

Nik: You suffered emotionally, I suffered physically. You cannot compare this. Physically damage is much than emotional damage in general.

Alex: What happened to you?

Nik: My boss experimented on me. That is how I left them.

Now the entire room was filled with silent bitterness. They all showed sorrowful faces and knew that this man, did in fact, suffer a lot.                  

Nik: So when we brought this woman back to their safehouse. They introduced each other to me. My bosses name was Rodwell. He is the one that began everything, all of this zombie apocalypse. He had many different henchman, but his right hand man was Damon.

Alex: I see, are any of them alive?

Nik: The story won't be interesting if I told you right now.

Ruslan: Your right. By the way, before you continue, can zombies get in here?

Nik: I can assure you to rest your worries, nothing can get in here without a password. Zombies are too stupid to do to be able to do that. In fact, I have many defence systems that will neutralize anything it feels is an enemy.

Ruslan: Good.

Nik: So after the introduction, they put her on the table. She was still alive. They told me to rape her. I said I'd do anything but that. They told me it wouldn't be rape anymore since she'd die anyway. They added that things will change soon after, and that I will have a better life. They promised. So I got ontop of the woman and I shoved my penis inside her. I thrusted her for more than 10 minutes. She died right after. That is when they began doing the experiments. I had never seen nothing like it before. They turned her into a zombie. She was basically revived, but into an ugly form of life. I asked why the raping was necessary. Rodwell told me that she had to be dead and said that raping is the best way killing a woman. I couldn't agree more, I was sick.

Emily: You really are sick.

Nik: I tried my best to forget about the things I did. I felt so guilty. Anyway, one day when I came over, Rodwell told me that he has discovered the secret that they were looking for this entire time. Reversing the Zombie state. 

Alex: What? How?

Nik: Rodwell explained that it would work and they tried a test subject. Another woman. This woman was far more beautiful than any I've seen before. I stood against it. They overpowered me and raped her. After that, I lost all respect for them all. They made her into a zombie and reversed it, making it even worse. She became a weapon of pure destruction, later identified as a Mrs. G.

Ruslan: I see.

Nik: But this was the first Mrs. G ever made, she was huge. The reversable zombie state cure did not work. Mrs. G trashed the entire place and the chemicals in the laboratory all broke and vanished throughout the entire lab. I managed to escape, Rodwell as well. The others didn't. That is how the virus spread out. Around twenty days after that, Rodwell saw me and captured me. He took me into a alleyway and punched me so hard that I almost fell unconscious. He tortured me for the next couple of days, till the virus got him as well. He did not transform into a zombie, no. He got superpowers. He could run faster than any human, jump higher than any kangaroo, fight better than anyone on the planet, and stronger than any bodybuilder.

Alex: Let me guess, Rodwell is still alive and your entire reason for living is to get him back for everything that he caused?

Nik: He is still alive, yes. But I cannot stop him, no one can. That is why I wanted you all, to come and help me.

Ruslan: I thought you said no one can stop him?

Nik: No one can. It is only a matter of time before he finds this place. Maybe in a day or two. He will stumble across it. We must leave before then.

Alex: We're not just going to decide what we're going to do, especially with the likes of you. You could be lying to us this entire time. We must talk it over with the group.

Nik: By all means. I will be upstairs, someone come to me when you are done.

Nik went upstairs. They put the chairs together and started talking.


Tomas: So what now?

Roman: I think what we should do is leave this place without him. I think it's the best course of action, considering our circumstances.

Ruslan: No. We shouldn't just leave. You heard what he said, there's not only zombies out there, there's this Rodwell character. We can get killed without knowing his abilities. Furthermore, Nik can supply us with whatever we need. I mean look at this place.

Alex: He's right. Yet it won't be fair for me to make anymore decisions, since our last decisions got us where we are, lower numbers.

Ruslan: All in favor of leaving.

Tomas and Roman raised their hands.

Ruslan: All in favor of staying and collaborating with Nik for whatever enemy that opposes us.

Alex, Ruslan and Emily raised their hands. Therefore, deciding what they shall do.

Roman: Ok. Now let's call Nik downstairs.

Alex: Let's ask him for the supplies now. Does anyone have any questions for him to answer?

Roman: No not really.

Ruslan: Nik!

About twenty seconds passed and he was seen walking downstairs towards them.

Nik: Have you decided?

Alex: Yes, we will use your supplies and information and we will cooperate with you under one condition.

Nik: That is?

Alex: You do not carry any weaponry, for we don't know whether we can trust you yet. Although, when the time comes, you will be able to use it.

Nik: Fair enough.

Alex: So there is no cure for the zombies?

Nik: Not that I know of, but Rodwell could have possibly made something. He is twice the man he was before, much smarter as well. He could have created an antidote. But we cannot act on it.

Alex: Okay, I see.

Nik: Our goal is to survive, and to bring down Rodwell. If there is any cure, we shall use it to our advantage and release the world of all evil. We can live our lives after that.

Ruslan: Even after all this, we wouldn't be normally living our lives. I presumed I'd die before all this would end, just that now isn't the time.

Nik: If that's how you feel, so be it. Let's all go to my basement, my arsenal is waiting.

Tomas: Can't wait.

Everyone but Alex and Emily went downstairs.

Alex: What's wrong?

Emily: Alex, I have something to confess.

Alex: What is it?

Emily: I'm not who you think I am.

Alex: What are you talking about? And is this really the best time?

Emily: Yes it is. It's the only time I got to spend with you alone from the others.

Alex: So what exactly do are you saying?

Emily: I, am apart of Daniel and Julians army. My mission was to distract you from your main intentions. I was given this by Rodwell. We were all assigned a mission, to bring you all down. You especially Alex. Rodwell, foretold of you, that there is a possible threat in the near future and that it would be you. So that is why all of this is happening.

Alex: Are you serious? Everything, me and you, it was all fake? None of it was real?

Emily: Before I met you, yes. Now it's all real, I just wanted to say it right now. My mission was to kill you, Alex.

Alex: What?

Emily: Any mastermind knew that guys have a weak spot for girls, especially pretty girls.

Alex: Emily, this isn't happening. This is not happening!

Alex turned around and started walking towards the basement.

Emily: I cannot let you go Alex. My mission ends here. 

Alex turns around back to Emily.

Alex: You fucking bitch!

Alex charges towards Emily with more anger than he ever had before.

Emily: Goodbye Alex.

Emily raises her P90 at Alex.

Alex: I can't believe it!

Emily pulls the trigger, no shot is fired. The cartridge is empty.

Emily: Oh. Fuck.

Alex: You're dead!

Alex jumped ontop of Emily. He put his hands on her neck, but did not choke her.

Alex: I promised I'd never hurt you.

Emily stared at him with tears in her eyes.

Alex: But now, you die.

Alex kissed her on the lips, got up, and shot her in the head multiple times with his M4 carbine.

Alex: I can't believe what happened. I must let it all go. I guess, all good things come to an end.

Alex walked off towards the basement sad and angry.
